Vernissage at DKFZ Heidelberg

BIMOVIS looks back on an inspiring Vernissage at the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum (DKFZ). An evening that once again brought together science, art, and dialogue in a unique and meaningful way. The exhibition “Proteins – the Power of Life” demonstrates how molecular structures can unfold their aesthetic and communicative potential far beyond the laboratory.

Artist and designer Jennifer Fink opened the event by introducing her artistic approach and the underlying concept of the exhibited works. She shared how complex protein architectures are translated into expressive visual compositions, balancing scientific accuracy with artistic interpretation. Her reflections on form, color, and abstraction offered guests deeper insight into the creative process behind each piece

Set within one of Europe’s leading biomedical research institutions, the works resonated strongly with the surrounding scientific environment. Researchers, staff members, and invited guests engaged in thoughtful discussions about the relationship between molecular structure and visual language. The images served as a starting point for conversations about visibility in science, the beauty of biological systems, and the importance of interdisciplinary exchange.

Throughout the evening, a vibrant atmosphere emerged – characterized by curiosity, openness, and the joy of discovery. The dialogue between art and science became tangible, creating new perspectives on structures that are usually only encountered through data and models.

With refreshments and informal conversations, the Vernissage concluded in a warm and engaging setting that reflected the collaborative spirit of the evening.

The exhibition will remain on display at DKFZ until March 6th. If you are interested in visiting or would like further information, we warmly invite you to reach out.
