Making waves at DBT2025: BIMOVIS in the spotlight

German Biotech Days (DBT2025)

This year’s German Biotech Days (DBT2025) in Heidelberg were more than just an event — they were a celebration of science, innovation, and regional excellence. And for BIMOVIS, it was a proud moment to stand at the heart of it all, right in our home city.

We had the pleasure of exhibiting at Booth #76, where visitors got hands-on with our VR googles and the virtual Vitrobot, discovered what’s new in structural biology, and explored how we help scientists beautifully visualize their proteins. Our team was thrilled to engage with researchers, biotech leaders, and fellow innovators from across the country.

From Booth to Broadcast

What we didn’t anticipate was just how far the DBT spotlight would reach. We were honored by a visit from Heidelberg’s Mayor, Prof. Dr. Eckart Würzner, and excited to find ourselves featured in three mainstream media outlets:

  • RNF Rhein-Neckar Fernsehen broadcasted a video segment showcasing highlights from the event — including BIMOVIS: Watch it here

  • Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung included us in their coverage of DBT2025 and the local biotech scene: Read the article

  • Mannheimer Morgen talked about the situation of German biotech and introduced BIMOVIS as one of Heidelberg’s startups: Read the article

These features underscored the growing role of structural biology in shaping the future of biotech — and we’re proud to be recognized as part of this transformation.

Conversation Continues: the Future of Structural Biology

Our presence at DBT2025 was followed by a feature in Econo Magazine, where BIMOVIS was profiled as part of a 6-page editorial dedicated to the event. In an interview with Joachim Klaehn, our CEO Martin Stieler discussed:

  • The critical role of structural biology in drug discovery

  • Why data visualisation matters more than ever

  • What makes BIMOVIS uniquely positioned in this field
