AI STRUCTURE PREDICTION
& Model Analysis

AI-supported structure prediction, model analysis, and structural interpretation for research and discovery projects.

From predicted structures to useful molecular insights.

AI structure prediction has opened new possibilities for structural biology. Predicted models can provide rapid access to structural hypotheses and help explore protein architecture, domains, complexes, interfaces, and functional regions much earlier in a project.

At BIMOVIS, we actively offer AI-supported structure prediction services and model analysis as part of our computational structural biology services. We generate, assess, and interpret structure models using AI-based approaches and connect the results to the biological question, available experimental data, and project strategy.

We see the strongest value of AI when it complements other structural biology approaches. A predicted structure becomes more powerful when it is interpreted together with sequence information, known structures, biochemical data, cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, molecular dynamics simulations, or molecular visualization.

Our role is to help turn AI-generated models into practical molecular insight. We assess model quality, identify reliable and uncertain regions, compare predictions with experimental or public structural data, and define how the model can support decision-making, visualization, simulation, or experimental planning.

AI Structure Prediction

Structural hypotheses, model confidence, and opportunities for follow-up.

AI structure prediction provides a fast way to generate molecular hypotheses when experimental structures are unavailable, incomplete, or need additional context. It supports early insight into domain organization, protein folds, possible interfaces, and structural regions relevant for function, interaction, or design.

Model analysis is the step that turns prediction into usable information. Different parts of a predicted model carry different levels of confidence, and biological context matters. Some regions provide a strong basis for structural interpretation, while others point to flexibility, uncertainty, or the need for experimental follow-up.

At BIMOVIS, we use AI structure prediction as a complementary tool within structural biology, not as a replacement for experimental approaches. Its value lies in combining AI-generated models with expert interpretation, experimental insight, and complementary computational approaches to generate more reliable and actionable structural insight.

How we work.

Question & input review

We define the scientific question and review available sequence information, construct design, domain architecture, homologs, known structures, and relevant background data.

AI structure prediction

We generate AI-supported structure models or review existing predictions, depending on the project need, and available information.

Model quality assessment

We assess global and local confidence, uncertain regions, domain placement, interfaces, and structural features relevant to the question.

Structural comparison & context

Predicted models are compared with known structures, experimental data, public models, or alternative predictions where useful.

Scientific interpretation

We evaluate what the model supports, where additional evidence is needed and which structural features matter for the next decision.

Next-step recommendation

We define whether the model is suitable for molecular visualization, structure analysis, molecular dynamics simulations, experimental validation, or further structural biology work.

AI prediction questions.

BIMOVIS can both generate AI-based structure models and analyze existing predictions. We can generate models from sequence and project-specific inputs, assess their quality and confidence, and interpret them in the context of the scientific question and available experimental evidence.

AI structure prediction is particularly useful early in a project when experimental structures are unavailable, incomplete, or need additional context. It can provide rapid structural hypotheses about protein folds, domains, interfaces, binding regions, variants, complexes, and functional sites, helping guide downstream analysis and experimental planning.

A predicted structure is not equally reliable in every region. Model analysis evaluates global and local confidence, identifies uncertain or potentially flexible regions, assesses domain placement and interfaces, and determines which structural features can reliably support interpretation, visualization, simulation, or decision-making.

AI-generated structures provide structural hypotheses but do not replace experimental evidence when validation is required. BIMOVIS integrates predicted models with sequence information, known structures, biochemical data, cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, molecular dynamics simulations, and other evidence to determine what a model can reliably support.

Depending on model quality and project goals, next steps may include molecular visualization, structural analysis, molecular dynamics simulations, comparison with known structures, experimental validation, or application in structure-based drug design, protein engineering, antibody epitope mapping, or PROTAC design.
