May in motion: BIMOVIS exploring biotech highlights and talent

Innovation thrives through connection – and connection was all that May 2025 was about for us at BIMOVIS. From high-level biotech conversations in Basel to vibrant student an young professional meetups in Darmstadt and Heidelberg, we were proud to represent structural biology at some of the season’s most dynamic events.

Swiss Biotech Days 2025: Presence in the Global Village

We kicked off May at the prestigious Swiss Biotech Days in Basel, where BIMOVIS exhibited as part of the BioRN Life Science Cluster within the Global Village. Our colleagues Aleksandra Bebel and Mathias Gschell welcomed visitors at Booth CV14, sharing our passion for structural biology and previewing our new workshop offering, “AlphaFold and Beyond”, focused on AI-based protein structure prediction.

With insightful panels and presentations (especially those from emerging startups), vibrant networking, and new collaborations budding within the Swiss ecosystem, the event was a valuable opportunity to highlight our capabilities and connect with key players in life sciences.

And yes — our iconic antibody keychains made another appearance (and disappeared quickly)!

konaktiva 2025: Inspiring the Next Generation of Biotech Minds

While half of us were busy in Basel, the other half joined konaktiva 2025 in Darmstadt, one of Germany’s top student-run career fairs. BIMOVIS proudly represented the biotech startup landscape, meeting bright students from TU Darmstadt and other top German universities.

It was energizing to engage with so many curious minds ready to shape the future of biotech. We had meaningful conversations about structural biology, visualization tools, and careers in science – and walked away inspired by the next generation of innovators.

Contact2025: Bridging Science and Careers in Heidelberg

Finally, we wrapped up the month on our home turf at Contact2025, the Life Science Job Fair organized by BioContact e.V. and hosted by DKFZ in Heidelberg.

As an exhibitor, BIMOVIS connected with dozens of talented life science students and recent graduates eager to explore opportunities in research and biotech. We truly enjoyed the conversations and were impressed by the level of curiosity, ambition, and scientific enthusiasm on display – but also by the fantastic organization of the event by BioContact (who are themselves all students and young professionals).

Big thanks to all that stopped by our booths to talk to us at these events! We are looking forward to the next round of events in Autumn!
